Better control of your UC may mean fewer flares and fewer symptoms. Fewer flares can make a big difference in how you are able to live your life, by giving you added confidence to go about your everyday activities.
Whether you found out recently that you have UC or have been living with it for years, you should work with your doctor to make sure you are doing everything possible to gain control of your UC.
You may know people with high blood pressure or diabetes who have to take special care of themselves because of their conditions. They may even have to take daily medicines to help them stay as healthy as possible and reduce the risk of medical complications. People with UC aren’t so different.
The key to controlling UC is finding an effective treatment—then committing to following the treatment plan to achieve successful control of UC and regaining a normal life.
